LarsArts - The Art of Lars Schotzau

Here we have a very simple recipe with only a few ingredients. Take some time (if you can afford it next to all the stress and troubles you might experience), a white sheet of paper (or whichever colour you prefer) and a pencil (again, you have the choice of several colours). Mix all of them carefully with the tool of your hand and you will achieve great results.

 What is reality??? Is it what you perceive around you or is it something you create yourself… something unique to every one of us? No matter if you perceive every day like a rat-race or like something incredibly beautiful like the flower "Franklinia alatamaha" (awesome name) which might be extinct by the end of next year. (Remember, a team, led by Lian Pin Koh of the National University of Singapore, compiled a list of 12,200 plants and animals currently listed as threatened or endangered.)

Anyway, I don't want to sound too pessimistic here (AM I????). Here you find some drawing you maybe can connect to. It all depends how you perceive it! 

 Are you living in a city???? I lived in cities all my life. Don't really know why I love the smog, the noise and the pollution so much. But I think at least once a year it is time to leave this environment in order to observe natures wonders. Every creation out there has something unique. What do we humans have???? Only our brain, which helps us surviving. The rest… is nothing! Or do you disagree?

I am fascinated by nature and she/he/it gave me the inspiration for the following drawings. 

 A project born out of frustration with the seemingly more and more impersonal world. Shall we call it the SMS or Facebook age?? Right now, I dont want to send anyone a digital gift or hug someone via a machiene...With this longterm project I want to go back oldschool and keep some jobs alive in the local post office...Drawing postcards and off they go!!!
